Behind the DOG INTERIORS collection, there lies the creative talent of Roman fashion designer Beatrice Fabi, who has built up a wealth of experience in the worlds of Prêt-à-Porter and Haute Couture.

As a Product Director for several leading Italian brands, Beatrice had already come up with a line bearing her own name.

With such an artistic background – she studied at the Academy of Fine Art and earned an architecture degree in Rome – it comes as no surprise to learn that she has always been engaged in a plethora of creative activities in parallel with her professional work.

Her great passion for travel has often led her to accept commissions that have involved extended periods living in countries very far away from her native Italy in both geographical and/or cultural terms.

Undoubtedly, her long stay in Asia was the most important of these overseas adventures, as she actually owned a home in Bali for 14 years.

Beatrice’s expertise in setting up and running manufacturing organisations large and small allowed her to become well-acquainted with several Oriental countries, including China, Thailand, India, Vietnam and, most of all, Indonesia.

Bali was the centre of international creativity in the 1980s and 90s, and Beatrice’s wonderful house in the Batujimbar complex played host to parties that came to be renowned not just for the important guests who would frequent them but also for their inspirational and ever-changing decorations, the presentation of the high-quality dishes and the selection of music, which included exceptionally rare live orchestral performances and ballets.

This consummate expertise was soon tapped into by Beatrice’s friends, who began to request her input into the organisation of parties and events, safe in the knowledge that they would be planned out with the same attention to detail that characterises all of her work in every field.

Having completed a two-year stint as a large-scale Product Director in Romania on behalf of leading Italian brands, she went on to take part in co-operation initiatives between Italy and Vietnam. She has since worked in a number of consultancy roles.

The arrival of her cat – Tigre, meaning ‘Tiger’ – proved to be the crucial component in her latest artistic endeavour.
